Quotations. I absolutely love quotations. They can be motivating, maddening, saddening and often prescient.
And paying attention—even a little attention—to them can also sometimes provoke both thought and action.
Here are five.
“A key—perhaps the key—to leadership is the effective communication of a story.”
--Howard Gardner

“Somewhere in your organization, groups of people are already doing things differently and better. To create lasting change, find these areas of positive deviance and fan their flames.”
--Richard Tanner Pascale and Jerry Sternin
----------
“I regard apologizing as the most magical, healing, restorative gesture human beings can make. It is the centerpiece of my work with executives who want to get better.”
--Marshall Goldsmith
----------
“You miss 100 percent of the shots you never take.”
--Wayne Gretzky
----------
“I saw that leaders placed too much emphasis on what some call high-level strategy, on intellectualizing and philosophizing, and not enough on implementation. People would agree on a project or initiative, and then nothing would come of it.”
--Larry Bossidy & Ram Charan
